Background
To mark the launch of The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, we designed, constructed, and installed a giant 12-meter-high bottle that navigated down the River Thames.
The primary objective of this activation was to craft a unique, iconic, and unforgettable activation right in the heart of London.
The activation also needed to be visually striking, functional, and safe for river transport, while delivering maximum brand exposure. We combined creative design, structural engineering, and on site production to craft an unforgettable experience.
Transporting a massive branded structure along the Thames required precision planning. The bottle had to navigate London landmarks safely, withstand movement on the water, and maintain its visual impact throughout the journey.
The bottle was built from a steel frame clad in hand-painted fibreglass to mimic frosted glass, with a large vinyl label applied before installation. The barge was fully branded on deck and sides, and the bottle rested on a faux-tiled platform reflecting The Ordinary’s identity.
The bottle set sail from the Royal Docks and passing by London’s most renowned landmarks. The pinnacle of this grand event occurred with the majestic lifting of Tower Bridge, symbolising a truly iconic moment in the brand’s rich history.
Through full-service design and production, we delivered a high-profile, memorable activation that showcased The Ordinary in a bold, iconic way. Post event, the fibreglass was recycled locally, and the steel frame was repurposed through donation.
