A playful and interactive install

Background

Leeds BID are a not-for-profit, non-political organisation set up to improve Leeds City Centre for all. They reached out to Bazaar to produce the set build and props for a city-wide giant easter egg hunt for the children and people of Leeds to enjoy.

Leeds BID wanted to create an interactive install that people could engage with and move around the city, in collaboration with chocolate brand, Lindt.

Creating fun
for families

The brief

The idea was to drive more footfall and engagement through the city centre, with a fun trail for the whole family to get involved with. The egg hunt was aimed at getting children more involved in the interactive activity.

We partnered with Lindt and the children received a Lindt chocolate bunny on completing the map and returning to the Bunny Garden at the start of the trail.

The challenge

We first had to design and produce the brightly painted eggs, which we completed at our workshop from designs agreed with Leeds BID. These were to be place at different locations around the city centre, and we would install them.

The main challenge was installing at 13 locations around the city centre. The team split into groups, and we made this work within the small windows of time we had.

We adhered to a strict installation schedule which was pre-planned with the participating venues in to enable a smooth install.

An egg-cellent
family-friendly activation

Our impact

We created 13 fibreglass eggs, each painted with a different pattern. Leeds BID created a map that would accompany the user as they walked the trail. The user would colour in the eggs on the map to match the giant eggs and return to the start of the trail to receive a free Lindt Chocolate Bunny.

A hands-on approach

Results

The client was really pleased with the results and the eggs looked great in their locations, dotted around Leeds City Centre. Our colourful props look fantastic in the photography and made for eye-catching content on social media.

The campaign proved to be a success, with lots of children and their families taking part to win a chocolate bunny. We were really happy to work with Leeds BID and it was fantastic to contribute to a fun project spreading joy to local families!

Professional approach

Bazaar were great to work with, and very accommodating, throughout the planning stages of LeedsBID’s Easter Bunny Egg Hunt. The overall design and quality of the Hunt gave us an egg-cellent family-friendly activation across Leeds city centre for families to enjoy!
